Divisions
NOVICE I (TIMBITS): AGES 4-6
The Timbit division is the initiation
program for young male and female hockey players. The division is
designed for the beginning hockey player and consists of three
on-ice sessions per week. The focus of this division is on basic
skill development, cooperation, fitness, and a fun experience which
fosters a lifelong enjoyment of the sport. On-ice sessions consist
of approximately 70% practice drills and 30% low organized game
play.
NOVICE II: AGES 7-8
The Novice Division serves as an
initiation program to introduce the basic concepts of the game to
young hockey players. The division is a recreational program
designed to develop technical skills, individual tactics and basic
team tactics. It includes house league play and provides an
opportunity in Novice II for competition against other centres.
There are three on-ice sessions per week, which includes house
league play.
ATOM: AGES 9-10
The Atom Division is a recreation
program and its main focus is on skill development, individual
tactics, basic team tactics, team play and strategies. This division
includes house league play and provides an opportunity for rep,
development and house league tournaments. The Atom Division will
usually consist of three on-ice sessions. An effort will be made to
provide an opportunity for out-of-town and local exhibition and
tournament play.
PEE WEE: AGES 11-12
The Pee-Wee Division is a
recreational program designed to develop technical skills,
individual & team tactics, body checking, team play, respect and a
knowledge for the rules of the game. This division includes house
league and all star programs. Ice time will usually consist of three
sessions per week. An effort will be made to provide an opportunity
for competition through various tournaments, both house league and
all star, ranging from local to provincial.
BANTAM: AGES 13-14
The Bantam Division provides an
opportunity for advanced tactics and team play. This program
includes house league and all star play. Ice time will usually
consist of three on-ice sessions per week. An effort will be made to
provide an opportunity for competition through various tournaments,
both house league and all star, ranging from local to provincial to
national.
MIDGET: AGES 15-17
The Midget Division focuses on
advanced skill development, tactics and system knowledge. A forum is
provided for the midget player to excel in competition ranging from
local, provincial and national tournaments and prepares the player
for the end of their minor hockey career.
FEMALE: AGES 4-18
The Female Division provides an
opportunity for basic to advanced skill development, tactics and team play. This program
includes house league and all star play. Ice time will usually
consist of three on-ice sessions per week. An effort will be made to
provide an opportunity for competition through various tournaments,
both house league and all star. Provincial
tournament play is available for players aged 10 and up. Teams can be
entered in under 12, under 15 or under 18 divisions.
